Worth The Risk

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

RATED IT: It was amazing.

Shelves: love-swept, shit-hot-series Stephen and Hannah’s story is just as engrossing and emotional as Matt and Abby’s was, but in a wholly different and unexpected way. The McKinney family vibe is still running strong…This was a thought-provoking read on some levels, but not in a bad way, it highlights that strength can be seen in so many different ways, and not all of them where you would expect to find them. Compassion and empathy, patience and belief, have the strength to heal, give courage, and rebuild lost confidence. I loved it; I didn’t want it to end. LOVE. THIS. AUTHOR!

RATED IT: It was amazing.

4.5 shining stars When I can lose myself in a book, have it take me on a journey and push every emotional button leaving me feeling raw at times, to me this is the testament to a beautifully written story. Stephen and Hannah’s story is moving, heart-wrenching at times and in the left me teary-eyed and with a huge smile on my face.

Look out Nora Roberts, Claudia Connor is taking aim for your Queen of Romance title. Claudia Connor has so much talent it is just of the scale. Worth the Risk is a story of two very broken people who find each other and end up mending the broken parts in each other. I know how sappy that sounds, but this book is anything but sappy. People all carry scars, some visible, some not.

RATED IT: It was amazing.

I wish I could find the words to express how much I loved WORTH THE RISK…but I don’t think anything I say will encompass all that I am feeling as I reflect on what I have just read. Talk about two people who find a place to heal within the arms of the other.

“I like who you are now”

I will admit I am not one to ever really have a connection to many heroines, I like them, but I don’t always remember their names as I do my favorite heroes, which I can list at the drop of a hat if you asked me to. But I think that Hannah will stay with me for a long long time. I don’t know too many heroines who have had this kind of strength, the only other I can think of is Eden St. Claire (from RESCUE ME by Christy Reece), who had also been through an ordeal similar to Hannah. Hannah has a light about her, that Stephen is drawn to, and her innocence and kind heart is what I loved most about her, next to her strength and will to do things on her own after all that was done to her. And her sexy as all get out, over-protective brothers didn’t hurt either!

RATED IT: It was amazing.

Only Claudia Connor can bring together two people with horrific tragedies in their past and find love. This was such touching love story that can not be described as a romance but as two souls coming together to be one whole!! So much more than I expected but not disappointed!!!
